The Wisdom that Cuts the Root of Suffering With Venerable Dechen 📍 On-site & Online | White Mahakala Buddhist Center 📅 Thursday, 18 December 2025, 6:30 PM 📌 Str. Tipografiei nr. 18, interfon nr. 7, Cluj-Napoca We might not realize it, but in our daily lives we rarely experience reality as it truly is. Instead, we perceive its appearance through the filter of our own projections. According to Buddhism, this is the delusion of ignorance – one of the three mental afflictions that keeps beings circling in samsara, and this distorted perception gives rise to suffering. The Buddha taught emptiness as the direct antidote to this root confusion, and dependent arising is the meaning of emptiness. Cultivating this wisdom means learning to see clearly and using that clarity as a tool in dealing with our own suffering. The lens through which we will look at the nature of Dependent Arising is the ancient wisdom from the writings of Lama Tsongkhapa, namely: ‘Praise to Dependent Arising’. As we dig deeper into this knowledge, our ignorance weakens and gives space for wisdom and compassion to expand. This is freedom that does not depend on external circumstances but rather roots itself in direct insight. Key Points -Dependent arising as the meaning of emptiness: the key to seeing through illusion -Ignorance as one of the roots of mental afflictions and suffering -Wisdom as the means to transform confusion and suffering into clarity and compassion -Seeing reality as it truly is becomes the source of genuine freedom Learning outcomes -Understand how perception through the lens of ignorance shapes our experience of suffering -Learn to see beyond appearances and understand dependent arising -Discover how cultivating a healthy insight restores clarity, compassion and freedom 🙏 By completing the following sign-up form, you can secure a spot at the on-site gathering and receive access to the online meeting link. https://forms.gle/vLs8GeWukpBii64KA The White Mahakala Buddhist Center exists and thrives thanks to the generosity of our community.
